Buhari meets State House Correspondents, starts with excuses of empty treasury




In what appears as an effort to divert attention from his imminent inability to fulfil his campaign promises, President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday told State House Correspondents that he inherited a virtually empty treasury from former President Goodluck Jonathan.


The President who spoke during his first meeting with State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa said it was disgraceful for state and federal workers not to be paid their salaries.


While soliciting for the cooperation and understanding of the media, he said:“This culture of 100 days (in office) is bringing so much pressure with treasury virtually empty, with debts in millions of dollars, with state workers and even federal workers not being paid their salaries.
