Lamorde not sacked, commences terminal leave as tenure ends in February




Contrary to the news making the round especially on social media, President Muhammadu Buhari did not sack the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde.

Ionigeria.com can authoritatively disclose that the tenure of Mr. Lamorde, who was appointed as acting Chair of the Commission by immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan in 2011 ends in February 2016. He has therefore proceeded on terminal leave.

President Buhari has therefore appointed Mr  as the Acting Chairman of the Commission.

Confirming the development on Monday evening, Mr Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity in Abuja on Monday, said “Magu, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, is to take over from Ibrahim Lamorde, who is proceeding on terminal leave ahead of the end of his tenure in February 2016.
