The Police Service
Commission (PSC) has approved the deployment of 37 Police Commissioners to
State Commands and the Federal Capital Territory.
This is contained in a
statement issued by Mr Ikechukwu Ani, the Head, Press and Public Relations of
the commission, in Abuja on Wednesday.
The statement said that
the deployment was is in line with Section 215 of the 1999 Constitution which
empowers the commission to appoint Officers to States as Commissioners of
Police.
Affected in the
deployment are former FPRO, CP Emmanuel Ojukwu, who has been deployed to Kogi,
and Ikechukwu Nwodibo who is deployed toTaraba.
Others are; J. Habila,
Abia , Adejo Gabriel Adaji, Adamawa, Muritala U. Mani, Akwa Ibom, Karma Hosea
,Anambra, Mohammed K. Mohmmed, Bauchi State and P. Okafor, Bayelsa.

The statement said that
the Chairman, PSC, Mr Mike Okiro, said the deployment was to reinvigorate the
State Commands for more effective and efficient policing.
He advised the
Commissioners to take their jobs seriously and ensure that they were committed
to the enforcement of law and order and protection of lives and property within
the ambit of the rule of law
